| DS46957 was a 10 ton Standard Covered Van built by the LBSCR.
There were two 10T variants, those with wooden underframes and those with steel
underframes. DS46957 was one of the wooden underframed variety. It was
converted to a Tool Van for use at Newport IoW and the additional (lower) vent
on the end was part of the conversion (there was one of these on each end). The
wheelbase was 9' 9", length and width were 17' 4" over
headstocks and 7' 8½" wide.

As can be seen here at some time during its lifetime DS46957 had at least
one of its LBSCR axleboxes replaced with a Southern Railway one.
