In addition to four wheel utility vans, the Southern Railway built bogie vans which had gangway connections for when in use as luggage vans attached to passenger stock. |
This view shows a bogie luggage van at Hither Green in service use. It has been fitted
with wider than usual doors and is believed to be DS 70141, ex-2462, which is
now preserved on the Bluebell Railway. Note that originally it had been
equipped with gangway connectors.
