On this page is a selection of screen savers to download. To
keep file sizes down none has more than twelve photographs, plus the title
screen, but two have a soundtrack of 31625 recorded whilst performing during
the 1999 "Steam on the Met". This soundtrack is used with the kind
permission of Alan Robinson and comes from his CD, "The Sounds of the
Southern". Photographic copyright rests with the photographers, who
are all named on their photographs.
On the left are zip files suitable for use by those running Windows and on the
right, thanks to member Matt Thrasher, are zip files with versions suitable for
the Mac (OS X 10.x and above).
To install, first download the files and unzip them (Windows: right click zip
file and select 'Extract All..', Mac: double-click the zip file).
Double click on the resulting unzipped file to complete installation on either
OS.

You can edit these to a certain extent if you so wish:
Windows: Go to your Desktop, right-click the screen and
select Properties. Select Screen Saver, then select Settings. In the Settings
you can adjust the amount of time each photo is displayed, whether they display
in order or randomly, and how they display. You can also adjust so that the
images fit the screen, but this is not a good idea as, unless your screen is in
the ratio 8:5, the photos will be distorted!
Mac: Open System Preferences from the 'Apple Menu',
open the Desktop & Screen Saver panel, click on the Screen Saver tab (this
may not be necessary if Screen Savers was the last tab used), and finally click
on the option button to edit user settings. |
