Devon Belle An unidentified West Country light pacific locomotive heads the "Devon Belle" up the steep bank out of Ilfracombe, with the assistance of a bank engine in the rear of the train. Banking of heavy trains out of Ilfracombe was a regular and necessary feature of the line!
