Stonegate

Stonegate Stonegate Signalbox, on the SER main line to Hastings via Tonbridge and Wadhurst, photographed during April 1985 the year after it was closed as part of the Hastings re-signalling scheme. It had already been stripped and has some wood nailed across steps to prevent entry.

Another view of this closed 'box. It would seem that the nameboards have been removed from the end gables, though that on the front still remained at the time of this photograph as, no doubt, a platform nameboard.
