| As part of the then new signalling upgrade when the new 'box
opened on the site of the old turntable on the up side, just east of Portsmouth
& Southsea Station, Fratton required a new ground frame which was provided
with substantial weather protection! Seen here when new. On the right is the
carriage washing plant.
