Eastbourne

Eastbourne Signalbox as it was in June 1984. Opened 102 years earlier in 1882, it was originally fitted with a 108 lever Saxby & Farmer 'Rocker and Grid Iron' frame. This was replaced on 14 November 1934 with a 72 lever frame.

Eastbourne

Eastbourne Twenty years later and the 'box is now divided into two sections with the old part of the box still having the levers and a diagram of the station from before it was all changed to colour light signals. The modern panel is in the new part, where the Signalman has an easier job!
