Situated between Holmwood and Boxhill, Dorking is where SWT
services terminate, and Southern continues to Horsham, although not on Sundays.
This station was also known as Dorking North, to avoid confusion with Dorking Town and
Dorking Deepdene stations.

Dorking's signal box is very similar, if not identical, to that at Horsham
and many other locations.

| Looking towards Holmwood (and eventually Horsham), the relative sparseness
of the station can be seen. Apart from the ticket office on the right, which has a
small canopy, there is little accommodation for passengers on this platform, although
there is shelter on the island platform.
