This restored ironwork badge of the London Chatham and Dover Railway can be
seen today atop a bridge pillar on the south west side of Blackfriars railway
bridge.

| The McAlpine family have long been associated with railway
construction projects and architectural details removed by their firm during
rebuildings have been preserved at Sir William McAlpine's Fawley estate
near Henley-on-Thames. It is believed this LCDR badge, similar to the one
above, was removed during the 1970s rebuilding of Blackfriars station.
